Creating and Managing Sniper Rules
Sniper rules are the "brain" of CloudCO. They continuously monitor provider inventory and act on your behalf when criteria are met.
Creating a Rule
Navigate to the Sniper Hub and click + Create New Rule. You will need to configure:
- Cloud Provider: The platform you want to monitor (e.g., Hetzner, DigitalOcean).
- Target Category: The type of infrastructure (e.g., Auction, VM).
- Hardware Criteria: Minimum CPU, RAM, and Disk requirements.
- Max Price: The maximum net monthly price you are willing to pay.
- Auto-Buy: Whether CloudCO should automatically place an order when a match is found.
Editing a Rule
You can refine your search criteria at any time by clicking the Edit (Pencil) icon on an active or paused rule.
Immutable Provider
The Cloud Provider field cannot be changed when editing an existing rule.
Sniper rules are technically tied to the specific constraints and API requirements of each provider. If you need to switch a rule from one provider to another (e.g., from Hetzner to DigitalOcean), you must delete the current rule and create a new one.
Other Editable Fields
Most other fields can be updated, including:
- Name/Description
- Price and Setup Fee limits
- Hardware minimums (CPU, RAM, Disk)
- Location preferences
- Auto-Buy toggle
- Notification channels
Pausing and Resuming
- Pause: Temporarily stops the engine from matching this rule. Use this if you want to hold off on procurement without deleting your configuration.
- Resume: Re-activates a paused rule.
- Completed Rules: Rules that have successfully purchased a server (Auto-Buy: Completed) cannot be resumed. To buy another server, please create a new rule.
Rule Limits
Your subscription tier determines how many Active rules you can have simultaneously. Paused or Completed rules do not count against this limit.
- Free: 1 active rule
- Pro: 10 active rules
- Business: 100 active rules
- Enterprise: Custom limits
